Oral bacteria thrive within the tartar on your teeth. Your dental hygienist uses instruments and technology that’s designed to remove hardened plaque and tartar.
Deep Teeth Cleaning
Scaling is a common procedure that removes tartar on your tooth surfaces. Your hygienist uses a manual scaler or an ultra-sonic scaler to gently remove the build-up from your teeth.
Bacteria eat away at your tooth enamel leaving your teeth vulnerable to tooth decay and cavities. Fluoride is often recommended for strengthening your tooth enamel and reducing your risk of tooth decay.
Dental cleanings also include polishing. A safe, abrasive paste is used to remove stains from your teeth and smooth your tooth surfaces to prevent bacteria growth.
